In general, our website may be used without providing any personally identifiable information. If personally identifiable information is collected on our pages (for example, name, address or email addresses), this is always done on a voluntary basis to the extent possible. This information will not be disclosed to any third party without your express permission.

This site uses SSL encryption to ensure secure transmission of confidential data, such as requests, you send to us. You can recognize the encrypted connection, when the url-adress changes from “http://” to “https://” and the padlock symbol appears in the status bar of the browser window. If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transfer to us cannot be read by third parties.

We would like to point out that online data transfer (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can have security loopholes. A seamless protection against access by third parties is not possible.

We reserve the right to subsequently inspect these data should specific evidence of unlawful use become apparent to us.

4. Tools, Plug-ins and other

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider of this service is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyze the behavior patterns of website visitors. To that end, the website operator receives a variety of user data, such as pages accessed, time spent on the page, the utilized operating system and the user’s origin. This data is assigned to the respective end device of the user. An assignment to a user-ID does not take place.

Furthermore, Google Analytics allows us to record your mouse and scroll movements and clicks, among other things. Google Analytics uses various modeling approaches to augment the collected data sets and uses machine learning technologies in data analysis.

Google Analytics uses technologies that make the recognition of the user for the purpose of analyzing the user behavior patterns (e.g., cookies or device fingerprinting). The website use information recorded by Google is, as a rule transferred to a Google server in the United States, where it is stored.

The use of these services occurs on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG. You may revoke your consent at any time.

Contract data processing

We have executed a contract data processing agreement with Google and are implementing the stringent provisions of the German data protection agencies to the fullest when using Google Analytics.

Google Web Fonts
For the purposes of a coherent presentation of typefaces this website uses so called Web Fonts, that are provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). When visiting a website your browser downloads the requested Web Fonts into your browser caches to display texts and fonts correctly. If your browser does not support Web Fonts, a standard typeface from your computer will be used.

YouTube
This website uses the Youtube embedding functions for display and playback of videos offered by "Youtube", YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, that is affiliated with Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). The extended data protection mode is used to ensure, according to provider information, that user information will only be stored once the playback function of the video is started. When the playback function of embedded Youtube videos is started, the provider sets "Youtube" cookies in order to collect information on users. According to indications from "Youtube", the use of those cookies is intended to record video statistics, to improve user-friendliness and to avoid improper actions.

If you are logged into a Google account, your data will be mapped to your account, as soon you activate the video. If you do not want the mapping to your profile on Google, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data as profiles and evaluates the data, even if you have not user account or are not logged in.

The processing of your data is based on Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR for purposes of the legitimate interests of Youtube and Google of advertising, market research and tailoring its site. You have a right to object against processing data as user profiles, that you must apply to YouTube.

Regardless of whether the embedded video is played, a connection to the Google network "double click" is established when visiting this website. This may lead to further processing of your data. Google processes your personal data in the United States and has self-certified its adherence to the EU-US principles on data protection “Privacy shield”, that ensures the safeguards and protection as required by European legislation on data protection.

5. Data collection on our website

Contact form
When you send us requests using the contact form, your data, including the contact information you provide, will be used by us, based on Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, to process your inquiry as well as any follow-up inquiries. If your request aims to enter into a contract the further processing is based on Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR. The data you provided by means of the contact form can be used to promote our products by letter post (see also clause promotion by letter post). We will not disclose this information without your permission to third parties.

Registration on this website
You can register on our website in order to access additional functions offered here. The input data will only be used for the purpose of using the respective site or service for which you have registered. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise, we will reject your registration.

To inform you about important changes such as those within the scope of our site or technical changes, we will use the email address specified during registration.

We will process the data provided during registration only based on your consent per Art. 6 (1)(a) DSGVO. You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect. An informal email making this request is sufficient. The data processed before we receive your request may still be legally processed.

We will continue to store the data collected during registration for as long as you remain registered on our website. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.


6. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our email newsletter, we will send you regular information and offers regarding our products and services. The only mandatory information for sending the newsletter is your e-mail address. The indication of additional possible data is voluntary and is used to be able to address you personally.

To subscribe to our Newsletter, we use a “double opt-in” process. This means that we will not send you an e-mail newsletter, unless you have expressly confirmed to us that you agree to the sending of the newsletter. We will then send you a confirmation e-mail asking you to confirm that you wish to receive future newsletters by activating a link.

By activating the link you give us permission to use your personal data in accordance with article 6 (1) (a) GDPR. When you register for the newsletter, we store your IP address entered by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration so that we can trace any possible misuse of your e-mail address at a later time. The data collected by us when registering for the newsletter will be used exclusively for the purpose of advertising by means of the newsletter.

You may unsubscribe the newsletter at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs in accordance with the basic tariffs. We do not charge any fees and expenses. Therefore every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe the newsletter. After activating the link your email address is removed from the distribution-list immediately.


7. Advertising by letter post

Based on our legitimate interests to process personal data for direct marketing, we reserve – provided we got the respective data from you – to store your full name, your address and title, academic grade and your professional title, sector or business description in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR and use them to send you interesting offers and information regarding our own products and services via letter post. You may object to the use of your data for these purposes at any time by sending a notice to the Controller without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs in accordance with the basic tariffs. We do not charge any fees and expenses.


8. Duration of the retention of personal data

We delete personal data, that is no longer needed for the purpose, to that it was collected and processed. Beyond that date we only store data to comply with regulations of the European Union or relevant regulations of a member state of the European Union.

We will delete personal data, we collected or processed based on your consent, if you withdraw your consent, unless the storage is necessary to comply with regulations of the European Union or relevant regulations of a member state of the European Union or is permitted by law otherwise.


9. Rights of the data subject

As person, subject to data procession, you have the right of access (Article 15 GDPR), right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR), right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR), right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR) and right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR). You are also entitled to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR).

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you, which is based on point (e) or (f) of Article 6 (1) GDPR (processing of personal data in the public interest or based on legitimate interests). If you object we will no longer process the personal data unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Where we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing your personal data, you may withdraw your consent at any time. A further processing of these informations on another legal basis remains possible, e.g. to meet legal obligations.

10. Objection to advertising mail

The use of contact data, disclosed as part of the legal obligations applicable to the Imprint, for purposes of transmitting advertising and informational materials not expressly requested, is hereby rejected.
